In August 2011 Westfield Church opened ‘Westfield Street Cafe’, using a mobile catering unit based outside the church with a ‘sit in’ cafe style area within the church. Its vision is to be able to share God’s love within a positive and caring environment through the building up of relationships.
In March 2017, the cafe moved into new purpose built facilities thanks to generous grants and donations.
The cafe’s non-threatening approach gives a welcome to all including those who don’t feel comfortable visiting the church. Street Cafe volunteers provide a service to those with whom they come into contact and regularly answer questions about aspects of church life. Our customers include local parents, workmen, taxi drivers and school escorts, local residents of all ages, church users, church staff and church members, local tradesmen and those who happen to be passing or are in the area.
The cafe is open Monday to Friday, 9 am to 3 pm. Food ranges from paninis to burgers. Drinks range from tea to freshly brewed coffee, including latte and cappuccino. Sometimes specials are served eg pancakes or fried chicken and salad.
On Sundays we serve freshly brewed coffee from the bean-to-cup coffee machine before and between Sunday morning services.
